Superset Data Visualization and Dashboard Consulting Engagement
A major financial services firm sought to transition away from an industry-leading
BI solution in one of its key products, moving instead to an open-source system (Superset)
to achieve significant reductions in licensing costs.
Deliverables
NobleProg conducted several project meetings with the client to thoroughly understand the
requirements, scope, risks, and technical environment. Based on this analysis, we developed a
comprehensive Statement of Work to guide and monitor the project.
Our lead consultant worked to align the existing data architecture with the reporting
requirements for each report type. The NobleProg lead consultant recommended adjustments to the data stores to maximize the utility of Superset while ensuring optimal performance, and provided guidance to the team implementing these changes.
Following the optimization of the data store and data pipeline, our consultants began
building and deploying various reports based on existing requirements and new requests from the business and customers.
To present the data as requested, custom plugins were created to enable more interactive data presentation (including drill-down features, etc.).
Outcome
The consultants have been developing new dashboards while ensuring that sufficient knowledge is embedded within the customer's organization to maintain the dashboards and reports.
The project is currently ongoing and has been well received by both the customer's business units and their end clients. To demonstrate the project's success, it has been expanded to include additional products and end clients.
