This course is structured into two complementary modules: theoretical and practical. The one-day theoretical module provides an introduction to the SIP protocol, exploring its motivation, core philosophy, fundamental principles, operational rules, and its role in implementing telecom services, with a specific focus on IP telephony and VoIP. The subsequent two-day practical module allows participants to gain hands-on experience in service operation through laboratory exercises. These sessions offer detailed insights into the configuration of SIP telephony architecture components, SIP signaling analysis at both the message sequence chart and internal message structure levels, and strategies for addressing common issues, including security concerns and telecom fraud prevention. Trainers will share their extensive experience in deploying, operating, and managing SIP telephony systems, encompassing virtualization and cloud-based solutions. The practical component utilizes both SIP hardphones and softphones, alongside IP telephony servers such as Asterisk and Freeswitch. Participants benefit from the trainers’ rich technical and business expertise in IP telephony, with opportunities to submit personal problems and questions. These inquiries will be incorporated into the wrap-up session to address urgent client needs directly.
