Day 2 · Advanced DAX and Model Engineering

  • S1 Advanced DAX patterns — Segmentation, ranking and virtual tables.
  • S2 Calculation groups — Reusable calculation logic with Tabular Editor.
  • S3 Composite models and aggregations — Blending import and DirectQuery with aggregations.
  • S4 Performance tuning — DAX Studio, VertiPaq Analyzer and query plans.
  • S5 Large-model strategies — Incremental refresh and hybrid tables.

LAB Diagnose and optimise a slow model using calculation groups and aggregations.

Day 3 · Embedding and Automation

  • S1 The REST API — Datasets, refreshes and workspace operations.
  • S2 Power BI Embedded — Embed for your organisation and for your customers.
  • S3 Scripting automation — PowerShell and Python for administration.
  • S4 CI/CD — Deployment pipelines and automated release.
  • S5 Governance and security — Service principals and tenant settings.

LAB Embed a report in a web page and automate dataset refresh via the API.

OUTPUT Embedded report with automated, secured refresh.

Day 4 · Custom Visuals, Integration and Capstone

  • S1 Custom visual development — The visuals SDK with TypeScript and D3.
  • S2 Power Platform integration — Power Automate flows and Power Apps.
  • S3 Real-time and streaming datasets — Push datasets and live dashboards.
  • S4 Solution architecture — Bringing the pieces together.
  • S5 Capstone — Design and present a developer solution.

CAPSTONE Deliver an embedded, automated solution with a Power Platform integration.
