Requirements
- Participants must have compiled a kernel at least once for a standard desktop (non-embedded) Linux system.
- Participants should understand the components that make up the Linux userspace on a desktop system.
- Participants must know how to generate and apply patches.
- Participants must be able to explain the function of GNU Make and Autotools, as well as identify other available build systems.
- It is ideal if participants maintain at least one Linux package, either as an upstream author or within a traditional Linux desktop distribution.
- Previous experience in embedded development is not required; it does not substitute for the knowledge of traditional Linux desktops outlined above.
